Rick Catterwell
Rick Catterwell graduated from Adelaide University in 2003 and completed his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2015. He subsequently completed focused fellowships in Nadiad, India and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia prior to an advanced oncology fellowship at Guy’s Hospital, London. He remained in London a further two years as a consultant at Guy’s Hospital and clinical lead for upper tract oncology at King’s College Hospital prior to returning to Adelaide in 2018.
Rick is a consultant urologist at The Queen Elizabeth and Royal Adelaide Hospitals. His sub-specialist interests include robotic and minimally invasive management of benign and malignant conditions. He is a clinical senior lecturer and faculty for the University of Adelaide’s Masters in Minimally Invasive Surgery. He is the clinical lead for urology at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, state chair for urology training in South Australia and deputy chair for the Board of Urology. He has participated in surgical teams with RACS Global Health Pacific including the first international urological surgical team to operate in Tuvalu (2024). He is passionate about teaching and training and was the recipient of the RACS award for the most outstanding trainer and mentor in 2022. He has written and published over 20 peer reviewed papers and authored six book chapters.
Eric Chung
Professor Eric Chung is a consultant urological surgeon at the AndroUrology Centre for Sexual, Urinary, and Reproductive Excellence and holds a professorial clinical appointment at the University of Queensland. He holds numerous executive positions in various scientific organisations such as the Chair of the Male LUTS and Past Chair of the Andrology sections for the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ), Past Secretary-General for the Asia Pacific Society of Sexual Medicine (APSSM), and Member-at-Large and Chair of the Surgical Committee at the International Society of Sexual Medicine (ISSM). He is the only USANZ urologist to be invited to serve in the recent 5th International Consultation on Sexual Medicine (ICSM) and the 7th International Consultation on Incontinence (ICI). He runs an active clinical research unit and has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters.
Joseph Ischia
Dr Joseph Ischia is a urologist with a special interest in urologic oncology. He specialises in the medicaland surgical management of diseases of the prostate, bladder, and kidney. He is the founder of JiffyStent™, a revolutionary new ureteral stent inserter designed for safe, swift, and secure stent placement, forrapid relief from kidney stone pain. He has also founded MedLitGo.com - a free online resource fordoctors to get quick, easy, and reliable insights from the latest medical papers at the relevant point inthe disease journey. Alongside his clinical commitments, he continues to be heavily involved in research at the University of Melbourne where he is currently studying the beneficial effect of high-dose intravenous zinc inischaemia reperfusion injury of the kidney, as well as multiple other smaller projects with the Department of Urologyat Austin Health. He is a member of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons, Urological Society of Australia and NewZealand, Australia and New Zealand Urological and Prostate (ANZUP) Cancer Trials Group, American Urology Association,The European Association of Urology, the Urological Research Society, and the Societe Internationale d’Urologie.
