Sailing Regatta
Saturday 02 April 2022
Time: 1300 - 1715

Join in for an afternoon of sailing on the Sydney Harbour. No sailing experience is required as your team competes in a series of exciting yacht races under guidance of an experienced instructor.

Following the inaugural 2018 SESA sailing regatta on the Swan River in Perth, the Sydney conference convenors have organised another signature sailing event on iconic Sydney Harbour exclusively for members and guests. Leaving from Darling Harbour we have chartered three keel boats, each able to take a crew of 8, with a fourth on standby if numbers permit. Each boat will be hosted by a SESA member, skipper and competent sailor, Des Bokor, Andrew Saies and Simon Bell. On board each yacht a charter company rep who will make sure every one is safe. The skippers will make sure there is a good mix of guests and members crewing on each of the boats to allow for safety, experience and social interaction. Unlike Perth these boats differ slightly in size, speed and performance and so a handicap system will  be used to determine the all important regatta race results.

The aim is to conduct two or three short races, weather permitting, no spinnakers and most of us should stay warm and dry, but a light spray jacket and soft sneakers or deck shoes will be needed.

At day end there will be presentation of results and celebratory drinks in true yachting tradition.

We look forward to seeing you out on the water.
