Phillipe Collin - France
After completing his medical studies in Paris, Philippe Collin was trained by various renowned surgeons in France,Europe and the United States. He has worked for more than 15 years at the Private Hospital Center of Saint Grégoirein Brittany, and since 2018 at the Victor Hugo Clinic in Paris. With his associates, they receive and participate inthe training of French and foreign surgeons and manage a clinical research center specifically devoted to shoulderpathologies. Philippe Collin has communicated his research work around the world (8 papers at the AmericanAcademy of Orthopeadic Surgery). He received the award for best scientific communication in 2014 in Japan atthe World Shoulder Surgery Congress. He has written numerous book chapters and over 80 scientific articles. Heis a former president of the French shoulder society (SoFEC), current secretary general of the European shouldersurgery society (SECEC) and a corresponding member of the American shoulder surgery society (ASES).
Ruth Delaney - Ireland
Ms Ruth Delaney, FRCS is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in shoulder surgery and an Associate Clinical Professor at University College Dublin, Ireland. She attended medical school in University College Cork, Ireland and went on to undergo orthopaedic training on the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program in Boston, USA. She completed shoulder fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham & Women’s Hospital under the guidance of Dr. JP Warner and also in Lyon, France with Dr. Gilles Walch and Annecy, France with Dr. Laurent Lafosse. She returned to Ireland in 2014 to begin her shoulder practice in Dublin at Sports Surgery Clinic and at Beacon Hospital, founding the Dublin Shoulder Institute in 2018. Her practice is a fully subspecialised practice, focused entirely on the shoulder. She is shoulder consultant to a professional rugby team (Munster Rugby) and takes care of many high level athletes as well as taking care of a variety of complex degenerative shoulder problems. She was the first surgeon in Ireland to perform a superior capsular reconstruction, to perform a pyrocarbon hemiarthroplasty and to use mixed reality technology for shoulder arthroplasty. She is an active researcher, and in 2014 won the Neer Award for work on shoulder instability surgery. She is a member of the American Shoulder & Elbow Surgeons (ASES) and a committee member of the European Society for Surgery of the Shoulder & Elbow (ESSSE/SECEC). She is a founding committee member of the Irish Shoulder & Elbow Society (ISES). She is Deputy Editor for Shoulder and Elbow Research at the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Bassem Elhassan - USA
Bassem T. Elhassan, MD has been a Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine since 2014 & currently a Professor of Orthopedics at Harvard Medical School. He received his medical degree at the American University of Beirut, completed three years of training in general surgery focusing on cardiothoracic surgery and one year in Orthopedics surgery at the American University of Beirut. Dr Elhassan went on to complete his Residency in Orthopedics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. While at the University of Illinois, Dr Elhassan received the Senior Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society in May 2000, & also the Robert Ray Award for Research. He went on to complete a Fellowship in Hand & Upper Extremity at Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, & an additional Fellowship in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at Mass General Hospital. He won the Mayo Clinic Teacher of the Year award for two consecutive years, 2009 & 2010 & his upper extremity service has been voted yearly as one of the best rotations for the residents & fellows at the Mayo Clinic. After being on staff at the Mayo clinic for 13 years, he moved to Mass General Hospital & started to work as co-Chief of shoulder surgery & program director of Shoulder Surgery fellowship at MGH since October 2020. Dr Elhassan’s clinical & research interests include upper extremity advanced reconstruction for sequelae of adult & obstetric brachial plexus injuries, shoulder arthroscopy for nerve decompression, rotator cuff repair, shoulder stabilization, shoulder replacement, management of complex shoulder disorders: rotator cuff repair/reconstruction, nerve repair & reconstruction, tendon reconstruction/transfer for paralytic & non-paralytic shoulder, elbow arthroscopy, management of elbow disorders: elbow instability, tendons' repair, elbow arthroplasty, management of wrist & hand disorders, & management of shoulder/elbow/hand fractures. Dr Elhassan has been innovative in the field of upper extremity surgery & was able to develop numerous Novel procedures (20 new surgical procedures for the shoulder, elbow & wrist) through dedicated anatomic & biomechanical studies. Louis Ferreira - Canada
Dr Louis Ferreira conducts research in the field of Surgical Mechatronics with specialisation in computer-navigation and robotics for surgical applications, and biomechanical transducer design for orthopaedic surgery. He also has a special interest in Biomechanics related to orthopaedic surgical outcomes. He co-directs the Surgical Mechatronics and Bioengineering Laboratories of the Hand and Upper Limb Centre of St. Joseph’s Health Care London, which are located in the Lawson Health Research Institute. He supervises research projects that are conducted for the Department of Surgery and the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at Western University. Together with faculty and clinicians, he collaborates on research projects that are performed by teams of surgical residents and fellows, as well as undergraduate and graduate students, from Medicine and Engineering.
Jean Kany - France
Dr Jean Kany is a French orthopedic surgeon, Shoulder unit at Clinique de l’Union, Toulouse, author and international speaker. He graduated from Toulouse University with degree of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr Kany worked initially in the Toulouse public hospital as a pediatric hand micro-surgeon. He spoke on many panels regarding congenital malformation of the hand and has been developing this demanding surgery in other countries like Vietnam, Columbia or Brazil up to now with recurrent humanitarian missions. Dr Kany moved to his private institute in 1998 and began shoulder surgery at the “Clinique de l’Union” in Toulouse, France. Philipp Moroder - Germany
Philipp Moroder is the Head of Shoulder and Elbow Unit at the Charité University Hospital in Berlin, one of the largest hospitals in Europe. He completed his training with Herbert Research, Peter Habermeyer and Markus Scheibel. In 2018 he was selected for the ASES Travelling Fellowship. Philipp Moroder is the author of more than 80 articles on Pubmed that go along with several other articles and book chapters. He has presented his research at national and international congresses more than 150 times. In addition to several other prizes, Philipp Moroder won the Charles S. Neer Award for this clinical research in 2019. He is known for working on innovative treatment concepts including the Shoulder Pacemaker therapy.
Moby Parsons - USA
Dr
Moby Parsons specialises in orthopaedic problems of the knee, hip and
shoulder including primary and revision joint replacement procedures,
arthroscopy and fracture care. He was the first person in the state to
perform a reverse shoulder replacement and has extensive experience in
treating complex problems and failed prior procedures. Dr Parsons is one
of the nation's mist experienced surgeons in joint implant procedures

partial knee replacement. Dr Parsons received his MD from Columbia

Matthias Zumstein - Switzerland
Professor Matthias Zumstein is currently Section Head of Shoulder, Elbow
and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at Sonnenhof Orthopaedics in Bern,
Switzerland. He is also Senior Consultant of the Department of
Orthopaedics and Traumatology, at the Bern University Hospital
(Inselspital) Bern, Switzerland. Professor Zumstein was Deputy Clinical
Director until 2019. Professor Zumstein is also an active member of
Sportclinic #1, Bern. He had the privilege of completing his research
and clinical fellowships in shoulder surgery with Professor Christian
Gerber in Zurich, Switzerland and Professor Pascal Boileau in Nice,
France. He also completed a clinical fellowship in elbow and wrist
surgery at the University Hospital in Adelaide, Australia with Professor
Greg Bain. Professor Zumstein is an elected board member of the Swiss
Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (Swiss Orthopaedics), and
editor of the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. Furthermore, he
served in the board of the European Society of Shoulder and Elbow
Surgery (SECEC/ESSSE) for several years. Professor Zumstein has an
extensive research pedigree with more than 65 peer-reviewed
publications, 15 book chapters, and more than 200 presentations at
national and international congresses - including 100 invited
presentations. He is a two-time Charles S. Neer Award winner from the
American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons – this is the highest honour in
shoulder and elbow surgery research in the world.
John Tokish - USA
John M. Tokish, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon in the Department of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine at Mayo Clinic. He is vice-chair for Orthopedic Surgery research.
He is a United States Air Force Academy graduate, and later completed his medical degree at the University of Washington in Seattle. He completed his residency at the University of Arizona and a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Denver.
Dr. Tokish returned to the Air Force Academy and served as head team physician and chief of sports medicine. He transferred to Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, where he was appointed Residency Program Director. Dr. Tokish is the orthopedic surgeon for the Arizona Coyotes.
Adam Watts - UK
Professor Adam Watts is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Manchester, UK. He was awarded his medical degree by the University of London in 1997, before going on to specialise in orthopaedics.
