Dr Devang Desai
Rick Catterwell graduated from Adelaide University Medical School in 2003 and was accepted as a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2015. He subsequently completed focused fellowships on the management of complicated urolithiasis at the Muljibhai Patel Urological Hospital in Nadiad, India and University Kuala Lumpur Hospital, Malaysia. Following the completion of a 12 month robotic fellowship at Guy’s Hospital, London, UK he remained in London as a robotic focused consultant at Guy’s Hospital and clinical lead for upper tract oncology at King’s College Hospital. Rick is currently a consultant urologist at The Queen Elizabeth and Royal Adelaide Hospitals in Adelaide, South Australia. He is passionate about teaching and training and was the recipient of the RACS award for the most outstanding trainer and mentor in 2022. He is a clinical senior lecturer, on faculty for the University of Adelaide’s Masters in Minimally Invasive Surgery, the head of unit for urology and director of surgical training at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and current state chair for urology training in South Australia. He is an avid mountain climber, adventure traveler and passionate Adelaide Crows fan
Dr Jeffrey Goh is a Brisbane trained Medical Oncologist who consults privately at Greenslopes Private Hospital and ICON Chermside. He also has public appointments at the Royal Brisbane & Women s Hospital (RBWH) and The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH).
He is a Medical Oncologist with special interests in gynaecological, pulmonary, GI and urological malignancies. He is a Principal Investigator for several international, multi-centre trials in gynaecological and urological malignancies. In addition, he is also a co-investigator in several colorectal and pulmonary malignancy trials at RBWH/TPCH. Dr Goh is a board member and QA Chair of the Australia and New Zealand Gynaecological Oncology Group (ANZGOG). He is also an active member of ANZUP and ASCO. He is also a Senior Lecturer in Faculty of Medicine, University of Queensland.
Dr Greg Malone completed his medical degree with an MBBS from the University of Queensland in 1992. In 2001 Dr Malone successfully completed his Fellowship examination with the RACS (Urology). Subsequently, Dr Malone undertook a Fellowship year at the prestigious Institute for Urology and Nephrology in London. This fellowship was focusing on prostate cancer/radical prostatectomy, endourology and complex stone disease. Dr Malone has undertaken extensive training in robotic surgery with a particular emphasis on robotically assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy.
Dr Malone is currently an examiner for the RACS, and is the immediate past Chairman of the ANZAUS. Dr Malone was the Convenor and Chair of the 2014 USANZ National Scientific Meeting held in Brisbane.
Dr Roger Watson (MBBS, FRACS Urol), is a Visiting Consultant Urologist at the Mater Private Hospital Brisbane, Mater Hospital Brisbane, with a special interest in urological oncology and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Since his return to Brisbane in 1996 from further training in the UK and USA, he has continued to develop his subspecialty interest in the diagnosis and management of urological cancer, particularly bladder, prostate and kidney cancer. This has included further training in laparoscopic renal surgery, prostate brachytherapy and robotic radical prostatectomy. He has a clinical practice in adult urology, which includes all prostate disease, such as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). He has undergone further training in the use of the Greenlight laser as a management option for BPH.
Dr Westera was born and raised in regional Queensland, completing his medical degree in one of the first cohorts to graduate from James Cook University.
During his urology speciality training in Queensland, Dr Westera developed a keen interest in minimally invasive and robotic surgery. After completing his Urology Fellowship in Queensland, he was selected to complete an ERUS accredited fellowship at the Bristol Urological Institute in the United Kingdom in Uro-oncology and Robotic surgery. His practice is based at John Flynn and Tweed Hospitals, with a strong focus on minimally invasive and robotic surgery.
Dr Wilson Edwards is part of the USANZ Female Urology Special Advisory Group. She is the RACS-nominated member of the TGA Womens Health Products Working Group. She was the USANZ-nominated representative in the MBS review of Urogynaecology items. She was awarded the inaugural USANZ Arnold-Low prize for her work as national lead investigator on the randomised controlled trial of pelvic floor muscle training using the Pericoach device. She is a member of the Calvary Medical Advisory Board, the Continence Foundation of Australia state committee and is a peer-to-peer mentor for Medtronic, as well as educational speaker with international publications.
