Dr Paul Huggan - New Zealand
Paul is an infectious disease and acute medicine physician with extensive experience in post-graduate medical education, clinical innovation, management, and leadership.
He has worked in a number of commonwealth health systems including the UK, Singapore and New Zealand.
His clinical interest, commitment, and research activity is devoted to improved awareness, recognise and response to serious infection and sepsis.
He co-founded the New Zealand Sepsis Trust in 2018 and submitted his doctoral thesis in 2024.
Paul was appointed Honorary Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Waikato in 2025 and is a clinical tutor in the University of Auckland medicine program at the Waikato Clinical Campus.
Dr James MacKean - Brisbane
Dr James MacKean has clinical interests in prostate, urological, and gastrointestinal cancers, haematology, palliative radiation therapy, and clinical mentoring.
Dr James MacKean is based in Brisbane and works at both GenesisCare’s Chermside and Wesley centres and also travels regularly to GenesisCare Fraser Coast.
James was awarded the Windeyer Fellowship in 1999. He completed registrar training in New South Wales and a Fellowship year at Mt Vernon Hospital, London before commencing employment at The Wesley in 2000. He has a particular interest in all aspects of the management of Prostate cancer.
His other interests are Palliative radiation therapy, Colorectal and Haematological malignancies.
He is a member of the Faculty of Radiation Oncology Genito-urinary Group and a former chair of the Australasian Brachytherapy Group.
A/Prof Daniel Moon - Melbourne
A/Prof Daniel Moon is a Urologist with subspecialty expertise in prostate cancer diagnosis and management, as well as robotic renal surgery. He served as the inaugural Director of Robotic Surgery at Epworth Healthcare 2012-2017 and is an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at The University of Melbourne. He has performed over 2500 major robotic procedures, published the first Australian series of laparoscopic radical prostatectomy in 2008, performed the first Australian robotic cysto-prostatectomy in 2009, and established a robotic partial nephrectomy program at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, publishing the first Australian series of this procedure in 2014 and the largest Australian partial nephrectomy series in 2017. In 2026 he performed the first Australian robotic single port robotic partial nephrectomy. A/Prof Moon has developed comprehensive training and credentialing documents for surgeons learning robotics, has received European Association of Urology certification as a trainer in robotic surgery and has served on the Editorial Board of the British Journal of Urology International.
A/Prof Moon has also developed a high volume urological prosthetics practice, restoring continence and potency in men following prostate cancer treatment. He has published the largest Australian series of artificial urinary sphincter insertion in 2014, suburethral male slings in 2017, and penile prostheses for erectile dysfunction in 2017.
Dr Niara Oliveira - Brisbane
Dr Oliveira is a Senior Medical Oncologist at Mater Hospital Brisbane with a subspecialty interest in genito-urinary malignancies.
She is an active member of the Australian and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate (ANZUP) Cancer Trials Group and is the principal investigator of several clinical trials in prostate, bladder and kidney cancer at Mater Hospital Brisbane/Mater Cancer Care Centre.
Dr Oliveira serves as a Senior Lecturer at The University of Queensland (UQ) and has been involved with core teaching activities at the UQ Faculty of Medicine. She is also a local examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians/Divisional Clinical Examination for Adult Medicine.
