Dr. Ruby Grewal received her MD degree at the University of British Columbia. Following completion of her orthopedic surgert residency at the University of British Columbia, she spent 2 years sub-specializing in upper extremity
Dr. Ruby Grewal received her MD degree at the University of British Columbia. Following completion of her orthopedic surgery residency at the University of British Columbia, she spent 2 years sub-specializing in upper extremity reconstruction and trauma. Her first fellowship was at the Hand and Upper Limb Centre in London, ON and her second fellowship was at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, Australia. During her fellowship in London, she also completed a master’s degree in epidemiology and biostatistics. In 2006, she joined the Department of Surgery at the University of Western Ontario and is a co-director of the clinical research lab within the Roth | McFarlane Hand & Upper Limb Center (HULC).
Dr. Grewal has been awarded the Dean's Award for Excellence for her research contributions to the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, multiple awards for research excellence and has represented the Canadian Orthopaedic Association as an International Travelling Fellow. She has published over 150 scientific articles and 40 book chapters. She is a deputy editor of the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopedics Global Research and Reviews Journal and spent over 12 years as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Hand Surgery (Am). She is a board member of the Canadian Society for Surgery of the Hand and co-president of a Canadian Multicenter Research Group evaluating disorders of the hand and wrist.
A/Prof David Graham
Asspciate Professor David Graham is a hand, wrist and microsurgeon on the Gold Coast. He is a Senior VMO as Gold Coast University Hospital and Queensland Children's Hospital, and founder of Mudgeerabe Hand Clinic and co-founder of the Australian Research Collaboration on Hands (ARCH).
He trained in physiotherapy and medicine at the University of Queensland before completing orthopaedic training in New South Wales and a hand, wrist and microsurgery fellowship at Royal North Shore Hospital and The Children's Hospital at Westmead. He undertook further international fellowships at Ganga Hospital (India) and the University of California Irvine / Shriners Los Angeles / Children's Hospital of Orange County, and was awarded Post-Fellowship Training and Education (PFET) in Hand Surgery by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2017.
He holds the title of Associate Professor at Griffith University and the University of Queensland, and Honorary Adjunct Associate Professor at Bond University, and has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications. He was selected for both the 2018 AHSS/ASSH and 2023 AHSS/BSSH travelling fellowships.
A/Prof Graham serves on the board of Orthopaedic Outreach and chairs the Australian Hand Surgery Society's Outreach Committee. His volunteer hand surgery outreach spans Nepal, Cambodia, Fiji, the Solomon Islands and Kiribati, and he personally leads the annual trips to Cambodia and the Solomon Islands.

Dr David Stewart
Dr David Stewart is a Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon with a special interest in hand and wrist surgery, peripheral nerve brachial plexus and congenital hand surgery and limb reconstruction.
Dr Stewart grew up in Scotland and graduated in medicine from the University of Edinburgh. After basic surgical training in the UK he completed a research fellowship in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the University of New South Wales. He then undertook advanced training in plastic and reconstructive surgery through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Sydney and Auckland.
After plastic surgery training Dr Stewart then completed a specialist fellowship in Hand & Microsurgery at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.
Dr Stewart has appointments at Royal North Shore Hospital Hand and Peripheral Nerve Unit, Royal Prince Alfred Sarcoma Unit and the Children’s Hospital Westmead and is a Conjoint Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney. He is an examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and is actively involved in teaching of trainees in Plastic and Orthopaedic surgery
