Dr. Toshiyasu Nakamura teaches at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgeryin the School of Medicine, Keio University, Japan. He graduated from KeioUniversity School of Medicine in 1988, specializing in Orthopedic Surgery in 1994after being awarded his graduate diploma in medicine. He obtained his PhD witha thesis in functional anatomy of the triangular fibrocartilage complex. In 1996he became Assistant Professor at Fujita Health University, Nagoya, Aichi, Japan.He completed his Research Fellowship, at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN in 1998 &Research Fellow, in State University of New York at Buffalo, Buffalo, NY in 1999.Dr Nakamura was Assistant Professor, at Keio University, Tokyo, Japan in 2006 &in 2014 was a Professor at Clinical Research Center Sanno Hospital, InternationalUniversity of Health and Welfare, Tokyo, Japan. In 2017 he was a Professor atthe Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, School of Medicine, InternationalUniversity of Health and Welfare, Narita, Chiba-Pref., Japan
Jason Harvey is an internationally trained Melbourne orthopaedic surgeon with a specialty interest in hand, wrist, and elbow surgery. Jason graduated from the University of Sydney in 1997. After an internship at Sydney’s Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, he moved to the United States where he undertook general surgery training at Harvard and Harbor UCLA, completing his advanced training in orthopaedic surgery at Harbor UCLA in 2005. Jason then undertook a hand and peripheral nerve surgery fellowship in Sydney (Royal North Shore) and was admitted to fellowship of The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2007. Jason has a particular interest in arthroscopic surgery techniques and is involved in research into advanced techniques in fixation of wrist fractures, hand & wrist sports injuries, finger joint replacement, elbow conditions and base of thumb arthritis. Through his public appointment in Dandenong, he is consistently involved in teaching junior doctors and is currently the Director of Training in Orthopaedic Surgery and the Deputy Director of Training for the Victoria/Tasmania training region. Jason has been on the faculty of a number of advanced teaching courses in hand, wrist and elbow surgery. Jason specialises in hand, wrist, and elbow surgery.
Dr Benjamin Hope is an Orthopaedic Surgeon with special interest in upper limb surgery. Dr Hope is based conveniently at Brisbane Private Hospital in the CBD, and is pleased to be a part of Brisbane Hand and Upper Limb Clinic.Dr Hope obtained his medical from the University of Tasmania in 2000, and obtained a fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2009. Dr Hope has also completed fellowships in hand surgery at the St Luke’s and Sydney Hospital Hand Units in Sydney, Shoulder Surgery at the Instituto Clinical Humanitas, Italy, alongside renowned surgeon Dr Alessandro Castagna, and Upper Limb Surgery at the Princess Alexandra Hospital Brisbane.Dr Hope’s special interests are hand and wrist surgery, trauma and microsurgery, and shoulder surgery, including both open and arthroscopic procedures. Dr Hope has a public appointment at Princess Alexandra Hospital and private operating at Brisbane Private Hospital, Wesley Hospital and also Mater Private Hospital Redlands.
